The Big Ice begins at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, located 70 km from El Calafate. There you will embark to cross the Brazo Rico, arriving at the opposite coast after approximately 20 minutes of navigation in front of the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by expert mountain guides, who will divide you into subgroups and accompany you throughout the tour.
The trekking begins with a walk along the moraine for approximately two hours, from where you will be able to get different panoramic views of the glacier and the Andean Patagonian forest. Before going up to the ice, the guides will put on crampons, helmets and harnesses, and explain basic safety rules.
You will explore, for approximately three hours, the most hidden corners of the most famous glacier in the world, with the possibility of measuring its magnitude and the mountainous environment that accompanies it. You will also have half an hour for lunch.
At the end of the trekking on the glacier, you will return by the same route for another hour and a half, to finally take the boat back to Puerto Bajo Las Sombras.
Due to the HIGH complexity and effort that this activity requires and with the sole objective of preserving health, they will not be able to participate:
