Tour Cerro Huiliche in all-terrain vehicles to appreciate the best views of the city and its surroundings.
The excursion starts with the pick up at your lodging in El Calafate, and completes a 35 km. route over the line of hills located behind the town. The trail goes through landscapes that amaze for its varied high altitude vegetation. It reaches 1050 meters above sea level. There, the first stop is a natural viewpoint where you can enjoy a panoramic view of El Calafate and the central body of Lake Argentino.
With the Andes Mountains in the background, you will have a view of the glacier accumulation zone, towards the Boca del Diablo. With the help of the weather, you may even be able to see the Fitz Roy and Torre mountains in El Chaltén and, with a bit of luck, perhaps a condor, master of the Patagonian skies, will be seen gliding overhead.
You will continue on to the Stone Labyrinth, an attraction only accessible with this activity. This is a formation from the Cretaceous period that dates back 85 million years, once a riverbed and where fossil remains of that millenary past can be found.
