Get to the foot of Cerro Chalten

The activity begins with the pick up at your accommodation in El Calafate, from where you will take Route 40 towards El Chaltén, bordering Lago Argentino and being able to see the local fauna and the sunrise among the hills.

Once at destination, you will receive a briefing about the trail, you will be given walking sticks and a map, and you will start trekking.

During the first stretch you will cross the forest until you reach Laguna Capri, the first technical stop with an unmissable view of Cerro Fitz Roy.

Returning to the trail, you will cross the Rio Blanco bridge until you reach Camping Poincenot, a totally wild campsite in the middle of the native forest.

Crossing Poincenot, you will reach the beginning of the ascent to Laguna de los Tres. Due to the altimetry and the terrain conditions, this last kilometer is the most difficult of the trail. During this ascent, the views of the landscape are incredible, being able to appreciate Laguna Madre e Hija from the heights.

After enjoying the stunning views of Cerro Chaltén and Laguna de los Tres, you will retrace your steps to return to the town of El Chaltén, from where you will return to El Calafate.
