Panoramic view of Cerro Torre

The activity begins with the pick up at your accommodation in El Calafate, from where you will take Route 40 towards El Chaltén, bordering Lago Argentino and being able to see the local fauna and the sunrise among the hills.

During the tour, you will cross the Santa Cruz River and stop for a few minutes at Estancia La Leona, next to the river of the same name. There will be a bathing stop and you can enjoy homemade cakes and something hot to drink.

Afterwards, you will continue on to El Chaltén, where the trail to Cerro Torre starts, and begin trekking. The trail has constant slopes, but without much complexity, 18 km round trip full of incomparable landscapes await you.

During the trek, you will be inside part of the Andean forest. If you are lucky, you may be amazed by some of the local fauna.

Near the final stretch, the path turns to small stones and can become confusing if you are not paying attention, so it is vital to follow the route marked on the map and not stray from the trail.

Upon arrival at Torre Lake, you will have enough time for lunch.

After enjoying the stunning views of Cerro Torre, the lake and the glacier that lies at its feet, you will retrace your steps to return to the town of El Chalten, from where you will return to El Calafate.
